If I were to describe my teaching style in one word, it would be AUTHENTIC. I'm unabashed about my love of education, both with students and teachers, and try my best to connect every lesson to a real-world scenario. While my core passion is teaching English, I also have an extreme fervor for weaving technology into daily instruction. I firmly believe that the endless possibilities of classroom technology can inspire the next Thomas Edison or Albert Einstein. And when I find time to breakaway from the classroom, I enjoy a New Orleans life filled with year-round festivals and endless new eateries.
Currently, I’m working as the Director of Professional Development with AXI Education Solutions. Along with a team of expert Educators and Instructional Technology Coaches, I conduct ongoing on-site and virtual professional development to Parishes across the states of Louisiana and Mississippi. I'm also a Masters Graduate in the M.Ed. Educational Technology Leadership Program at Nicholls State University. Whether a teacher is just getting started with a Promethean ActivPanel or learning how to manage a 1:1 Google Classroom, I start by remembering that technology will always be the tool that the teachers and students employ to succeed; no technology will replace strong pedagogy. So when I sit at my desk to plan a lesson or when I'm developing a professional development plan with a technology team, my first question I pose is, "What does spectacular teaching look like to you?"
